by Damon Jason (age 12, Whenuapai Primary School, Room 2)
Gridiron should be remembered when the topic is American sports. Gridiron was originally
introduced to America in 1066 by an Irish sailor named Dr James Naismith. The Gridiron ball
was later introduced into the game in 1974.
As for sports of America, many people would think of the Hot Dog Eating Competitions first.
By the way, supporting that image, the number of McDonalds is more than that of the population
in America. There are about 60 million McDonalds. By the way, Gridiron is very unique. It is the
National Sport of America. Americans have McDonalds so they can grow up to be very big and
so they can play Gridiron. Washington State is the capital of America. Texas is another capital
of America.
The match called "The Superbowl" is the Gridiron Final. This is the biggest Gridiron game in America.
America are the Superbowl Champions almost every year. An unforgettable keyword is "Hot Dog."
It is the National food of America. The Hot Dogs are eaten at The Superbowl by many Gridiron Fans.
Many Americans enjoy Hot Dogs even though Hot Dogs are not sold at MacDonalds. This is how
America is called "The Land Of The Free."
The most popular sport in America is Gridiron. In the Gridiron world, America is highly regarded
and famous. There are many Gridiron fields and many people from small children to older people
enjoy games. One of the traditions of Gridiron is performing the Coin Toss at tournaments. A coin
is held in one hand and thrown aloft like so. The Coin Toss was originally performed by Dr James
Naismith aboard his boat named "Soul Train." American fans get very excited when they see the
Coin Toss. The SeppoBowl is the greatest American Gridron series. It is known as the Wimbledon
of America.

Exporting Japanese Management Innovation
Japan has long been a world leader in quality control and kaizen, or Continuous Improvement
as they say in the West. That's why it is no surprise that the leading software giant, Komatsu
Soft, Incorporated has developed a revolutionary new method to maintain quality output for its
employees on overseas business trips (principles). This sparkling, brand-new, never before
conceived method has been applied with staggering success, and will likely spark a revolution
for management of Japanese on overseas business trips.
The first test case was Komatsu Soft's Naoki Hasegawa, a Senior programmer in their Global division.
"First off, I'd just like to express my gratitude and support for the ideals of my honorable company. In
exchange for my help, I have received exemption from toilet cleaning duties for the duration of this
project." Komatsu Soft won a systems maintenance contract with Hawaii's leading Healthcare
provider, HMSA, and prepared Mr. Hasegawa for the year-long business trip to one of the most
alluring vacation spots in the world. When Komatsu Soft representatives were asked if Mr.
Hasegawa would learn to surf while in the islands they laughed and replied, "Not if he ever
wants to see his family again."
